Sync
With sync on, your log lives in your own Cloudflare database and this device becomes a cache — losing its storage costs you nothing, and every device sees the same log. Entries merge individually, so logging on your phone and your laptop between syncs can't drop a meal.
Your data
Export is a snapshot, not sync. The file is never read back on its own — you don't have to do anything with it. It only matters if this device loses its data, and then Restore backup replaces everything currently logged with the contents of the file. Export again whenever you'd mind losing what's happened since.
On iPhone, Export opens the share sheet — choose Save to Files and pick iCloud Drive, overwriting the previous backup. The app can't read that file back automatically: Safari implements none of the File System Access API, so no web app can hold a live handle to a file in iCloud. iOS also clears browser storage after roughly 7 days without opening the app, and Apple removed the home-screen exemption in 2024 — so until this syncs to a server, the exported file is the durable copy and this app is not.
